About the symposium
Since 1962, this regular autumn meeting of experts has successfully fulfilled the assignment that best expresses the first record in the Symposium’s chronicle: “Guided by a sincere effort to apply new knowledge in practice, we have decided to hold every year in Příbram a weekly event devoted to new technology under the name Mining Příbram in Science and Technology“. The Symposium participants work in professional sections that are systematically selected according to the changing needs of the country‘s mining and economy, and that feature a wide spectrum of themes, ideas and interests, from instructive mining history and modern technological methods up to current issues concerning mining legislation and the future of mining.
The closing evaluation of results, lectures and the discussion may bring new knowledge, and also new incentives for further activities. The demanding organization, including logistics, publication activities and social events require efficient management which is provided by representatives of the state enterprise DIAMO and other institutions under the auspices of the Union of Employers in the Mining and Crude Oil Industry, as well as assistance of enthusiastic and dedicated staff. |
